Cleartone Strings are manufactured in house using 100% US Parts and Labor. We use only the highest quality,
US sourced, nickel-plated steel wire wrapped around a high-carbon hexagonal steel core. Our patented Cleartone
treatment will ensure you spend more time playing and less time changing strings. Put this all together and
you get a string with a bright and clear tone, better tuning consistency, and increased output and lifespan!

British Steels Regular 11-48

The quintessential sound of British guitar – Rotosound’s early electric guitar strings
which were the choice of music legends.
This range originates from the sixties and offers a distinctly bright tone with increased
presence over its nickel-plated counterparts. As British Steels are nickel free,
they’re aptly suited to players with a nickel allergy.

The British sound
In the early days of rock and pop, stainless steel strings were the sets of choice with top
players. Rotosound supplied stainless steel strings to the best players of the sixties and s
eventies such as Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Syd Barrett, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Brian May.

Unmistakable tone
With such high iron content in their ferritic stainless steel covers, British Steels offer a
clear and bright sound that still packs a punch. Serious twang is at hand with cleaner amp
settings but turn up the overdrive to unleash unmistakable upper harmonics and presence unique
to steel strings."

Great British quality
Manufactured in the UK to precise tolerances and using only the finest materials, you can rely

Super Bronze Acoustic Medium Light 12-54

Pioneered by Rotosound in 1974, Super Bronze remains the choice for long sustain and brightness.

Applying our patented Piano String Design technology to 92/8 phosphor bronze windings offers unrivalled sustain
and presence.

Core principles
James How, Rotosound’s founder, revolutionised the acoustic guitar string with his world acclaimed piano string
contact core design.

Originally released under the Superwound name ‘Country Gold’, these strings employ a wrap wire that stops short
of the ball end so that a section of the core wire is exposed and only the core wire comes into contact with the
saddle.

British quality
Manufactured in the UK to precise tolerances and using only the finest materials, you can rely on Rotosound
acoustic strings for consistent tone and performance in every packet.

Piano string design
Inspired by the construction of piano strings, Rotosound’s James How designed and patented the ‘Superwound’
string in 1974. Described on their launch as having “unequalled hi-fidelity range, selective harmonic control,
longer sustain and extreme power”, this design is a classic example of Rotosound’s innovation.
